Stillness is an innate human experience far beyond our social conditioned sense of identity. When you enter stillness, you may may sense that nothing begins or ends because it simply is. Alternatively, you may experience your "stillness" simply as a sense of calm and "oneness" permeating your whole being.
From stillness comes "spontaneous productivity." Spontaneous means free from expectations. Spontaneous productivity gives us control. Spontaneous productivity allows us to leap into the "business of life." An optimal sense of "being" is one that makes us sustainably productive yet does not feel oppressive.
In the transformation of being to an information and processing and monetization being the actualization of a fuller personal potential just begins to occur. For some very gradually. For others in a more rapid manner. More fulfillment manifests itself in one's life the moment we focus on self actualization by processing data in our lives than maintaining a focus on the obsolete survival instincts of a human being.
There's love we express and love we expect. However, when we express love we're a bigger person. By contrast, when we expect love we're likely to start keeping score, be disappointed, and get caught in unproductive conflict loops with loved ones. When we express love with our loved ones, children, pets and significant others, we are self actualizing an entirely separate, different and untapped bigger part of our potential.
We are not our thoughts. Even our thoughts come and go without our control. Ask yourself where do your thoughts go after they have passed thru your mind. Is your Being then still defined by that passing thought? Thoughts are just evidence you exist. Your mind adds its own narrative to everyday observations. Very often these narratives can be negative such as shame, guilt, anxiety. Rather than define yourself as your thoughts and emotions, simply be the awareness and witness of them instead of attaching and identifying your very Being with what is just a passing thought of many you'll experience in your lifetime.
The practice of Emotional hygiene refers to being mindful of our psychological health as we would our physical health. Just as with our physical health, one needs to adopt daily habits to monitor and address psychological slights wounds when we sustain them over time.
There is a balance across the continuum between "independence" and "interdependence." It starts with establishing ones independence. Once independent, stepping toward integrating oneself into a more complete state of being "inter-dependence" is where the synergies manifest themselves which result in the outcome being greater than the simple sum of the individual parts.
Feeling your feelings are the quickest route to healing them. Make time in your day to feel your feelings rather than ignore or repress them. Give yourself permission to feel as we are not responsible for our feelings - only our actions. As we are not responsible for our feelings release any self criticism or judgement about them. Once you make space for processing negative feelings you have developed the capacity to release them.
Fantasies are the use of the imagination to create physiological feel good feelings of dreams come true. By contrast, visualizations have a basis in reality that typically include a rehearsal or planning of steps necessary to harvest a certain reality.
I find the best way to establish an understanding in some sort of philosophical, religious and/or political emotionally charged argument that challenges one's value system is for one party to ask the other: "What do you believe, that I don't believe. The outcome that ensues tends to reduce any perceived black and white differences into a spectrum of mutual understandings and commonality where people can simply agree to disagree.
If we love what we have, we'll have what we love. When you appreciate, from inside, the process of achievement, you'll lead a fuller richer life and can better pursue the next goals. Does productivity come from insecurity and obsessions? Or from an inner peace combined with love and passion?
You don't have to be great to start. But to be "great" you have to start.
A “fact” is data that is verifiable based on objective, independent and scientific standards. “Feelings,” while a part of being human, do not have to meet these objective criteria. The danger is treating feelings as facts as in doing so we eliminate the testing of our assumptions, conclusions which can lead to less than productive emotionally driven extreme behaviors such as murder. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but not to their own facts.
When we use feelings as facts, we tend to cherry pick facts to back up our feelings and conclusions. This is called “confirmation” bias. Also, when we use feelings to test conclusions, our feelings make us unwilling to gather facts. From an evolutionary perspective, if you look at the structure of the brain the flight, fight or flee “limbic” system came first. Thereafter, man’s brain evolved the pre frontal cortex where rational thinking occurs. People who rely on their emotions and the initial limbic system reaction are only relying on half their brain power to succeed in the business of life.

It’s the power of perspiration. What we label as “stress” has essentially the same neurological signature as adrenaline. Combined with a constructive behavioral response, as adrenaline kicks in, our bodies start to generate the feel good hormones of endorphins, dopamine and serotonin.
Its our inner critic as its most connected to the ego and most easily distracted. We have unsettled, confused, restless monkey minds that generate about 100,000 thoughts a day which diminish our productivity and creativity. In order to shut down your monkey mind accept your thoughts cannot control your thoughts and just observe your thoughts as awareness. But also realize you are in full control of your “thinking.”
Anything in our experiences is mentionable. Anything that is mentioned becomes more manageable. The more we talk about our frustrations, disappointments, life’s tragedy’s particularly those that generate feels of shame an humiliation the sooner we realize we are not alone in this word and the healing begins.
Helping is being there or doing something for someone that they cannot do for themselves. Enabling is doing something that they could or should do. Enablers avoid confrontations where helpers raise and address discruptive and unproductive behaviors. Enablers soften consequence whereas Helpers ensure consistent negative consequences. Enablers make excuses whereas Helpers guide toward accepting responsibility. Enablers avoid any changes whereas Helper communicate and expect behavioral expectations.
Helping helps. Enabling hurts.
You cannot control other people. But once you accept you cannot control other people you realize other people cannot control you.
The act of hearing is “being able to perceive with the ear the sound made by someone or something.” “Listening” generates a robust understanding, insights and reflection of thought exchange amidst effective engagement. Listening also captures a diversity of perspectives. Communities with vast differences of opinion are smarter than homogenous groups.
Equality means the exact balance of social, economic benefits. Fairness is being treating in a fair and just way. As long as everyone is given the opportunity to play by the same rules, there can be winners and losers as people have different skills and opportunity sets. People don’t expect equal outcomes. People want equal and fair treatment,
Its easy to cling to all the “knowing” you have. But when you “think” you know, you’ve just lost the ability to let your knowledge evolve, change and process productive outputs that contribute to your self actualization. What you “think” you know are not “truths.” Instead they are a data points that have been distorted which leaves you stuck. Your truths are just “possibilities.”
We do then, what we know how to do. Not that we know better, we can do better.
You’re listening to them and they are listening to “them.”
Conversations are a two way street not a monologue in the presence of another person. Yet how many times do we find ourselves in conversation where we’re just waiting for our chance to speak. Maybe people are not listening to you as you are not listening to them. Maybe they are listening to “them” as a function of their own mindset. Strive for asking questions and giving each other a chance to finish their thoughts based on each other’s learning styles.
